SUMMARY
Connect the USB cable from the keyboard to your computer. Connect the MIDI Out port to a MIDI In port on a MIDI interface, and connect the MIDI In port on the keyboard to a MIDI Out port on the MIDI interface using MIDI cables. Connect the MIDI interface to your computer. Install the latest drivers for your keyboard (if needed) and follow the instructions in the owner’s manual before proceeding. PS/2 and USB (Recommended)

When you connect the keyboard to both the PS/2 and USB ports on your
computer, you are can use all the features and functionality of the
Microsoft Keyboard, including the USB ports on the keyboard.
USB Only
When you connect the keyboard to the USB port only, you are can use
all the features and functionality of the Microsoft Keyboard, but may
experience problems if your computer does not support HID (Human Interface
Device) class USB devices.
PS/2 Only

Use this method if your computer does not support HID class USB devices.
If you connect the keyboard to the PS/2 port only, you cannot use the USB
ports on the Microsoft Keyboard.
